Audiobook Review: Hexes Go Well With Tequila by LeAnna Ehrsam

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

Hi all! It has been a wonderful week so far! I do not know if I have shared this tidbit in the past, but I love cheering for my hometown baseball team, the Cleveland Guardians. So, when October baseball came around, of course I was cheering for them. When they won the ALDS, I packed my bags Saturday night and headed for Cleveland, where I will be at game three when Cleveland takes on Tampa Bay!

The 10-hour road trip was a great time to listen to my latest read from NetGalley, the folks at Hay House Audiobooks, and LeAnna Ehrsam. Hexes Go Well With Tequila is book one in the Lost Souls series. It features found family, a male main character who resembles the Brawny Man, an Irish wolfhound, and the magical setting of Salem, Massachusetts. As always, all opinions are my own.

When Ursula Cambridge gets a magical invitation to stay in the Lost Souls House in Salem, MA, a mysterious house with a notorious past, she cannot turn it down. She quickly becomes friends with some local women. After a night of drinking and playfully hexing men who did them wrong, they wake up to find out that the hexes actually worked!

Then there is the grumpy town bachelor, Jensen, who just so happens to be cursed in love, and his niece, Bess. Both form their own relationships with Ursula, even if Jensen is reluctant at first. But when a literal witch hunt comes to Ursula’s door, Jensen is there to help, just like Ursula is there when Bess needs a place to stay.

Will Ursula be driven out of town by some townsfolk who do not like the mystery of the Lost Souls House and call her a witch? Will her friends be able to withstand the slander being thrown at them because of their friendship with Ursula? Is Jensen really cursed, and if he is, can they break it? Guess you will just have to pick up this audiobook!

Patricia Santomasso is the narrator for this one, and this is the first time I have had the pleasure of listening to her narration. She did a great job with this story and its many characters, keeping me engaged throughout the drive.

I loved how this group of women formed a coven without realizing it. I also enjoyed the older female main character and how she knew exactly what she wanted and did not want. She was able to compromise while still holding true to her wants and needs. I also loved that she was not about to let people drive her out of town with the witch hunt and everything else that happened.

If you are looking for a book to read before the end of spooky season, this is a great pick, especially if you love the Salem setting, witches, and found family. The audiobook releases today, so grab it now from your favorite audiobook seller.

Until next time, my friends, I hope your next read is 5 stars!
