Hi all! I promised you I would be back again this week, and here I am as promised. I have been so busy packing and getting ready for Sinners and Stardust this weekend in Boston. Now, I was gifted this adorable holiday romance from the folks at NetGalley along with the folks at Dreamscape Media. This book is perfect for those of you who are fans of Hallmark romances and are looking for a feel-good romance.

This book starts out with Georgia Warren. While she would normally be on Santa’s good list, this year has been a little difficult. Currently, she is about to sneak into the private area of Jake Evans. Her pass is somewhere over there in one of those wrapped gifts, and she is not about to undo all that work to find it. She is just going to sneak by security dressed as an elf and blend in with the Christmas crowd until she gets to his room, gets his approval—which is all but guaranteed, because who says no to a needy child’s wish to meet their hero?—and gets out of there.

Who says no? Jake, that’s who. He is busy, and Georgia broke his heart. He cannot be around her again. A few weeks go by, and while he may have been the leader who helped win the championship, that is not guaranteed this time when he cannot get Georgia out of his head. She shows up at another one of his shows, and he agrees to help on one condition: she must go home to his grandparents’ tree farm and be his personal assistant for the week.

Georgia, of course, agrees. She and Jake have a past, and he is going to take this opportunity to do some good and get over his ex. Or maybe the real good that will happen this season is not just making a kid’s wish come true, but maybe finding love again.

This is the perfect book for those of you who are fans of Hallmark holiday romance movies and need something to tide you over until the Countdown to Christmas begins. The narrator, Samantha Summers, did a great job. She made this second-chance holiday romance enjoyable. This one is quick-paced and pretty cozy.

If you are looking for an easy read and are ready to skip right to Christmas, pick this one up when it releases on August 18th. If not, you may want to add it as a palate cleanser this holiday season.
