Book Review: Angry God by L.J. Shen

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Series: All Saints High Book 3

Hiya book friends! You know I am loving my time in L.J. Shen’s novels and I’ve got a juicy read to dish about today. We’re diving back into the thrilling world of All Saints High once again with “Angry God,” the third installment in the series. I know you’ve been following along with this saga so get ready to be swept away once more. So my friends, buckle up because things are about to get seriously intense with this Dark Romance.

Let me start off by telling you all that “Angry God” is a solid 4-star read. It delivers all the feels and then some. If you thought the first two books were emotional, just wait until you get your hands on this one.

This may be part of the All Saints High series, but as we start this story we’re whisked away to a dark, looming castle on the outskirts of London. It’s a place rumored to be haunted by secrets of the past. It’s the perfect backdrop for this dark tale, adding an extra layer of mystery and intrigue to an already captivating story.

This book is really all about Vaughn Spencer. He takes the spotlight in this book and boy, is he a character you won’t soon forget. With the looks of a God and just maybe the wrath of one to… from the start, you can tell he’s carrying some heavy baggage. When his story unfolds, your heart will not be safe.

What really tugs at your heart in this book, if you’re anything like me friends, is the fierce loyalty of Vaughn’s friends and family. Vaughn may be studying across the pond, but they’ve got his back through thick and thin, and seeing them go to bat for him adds a whole new layer of depth to the story. But Vaughn’s not the only one bringing the fire here. Lenora, our leading lady, is one tough cookie. She’s not about to put up with Vaughn’s antics or let him keep his secrets hidden away. Nope, she’s his equal in every sense of the word, and she’s not afraid to remind him of that fact by doing what ever it takes to show him.

Lenora’s strength and resilience just shines through, especially when she refuses to let Vaughn push her around. She’s not just a love interest; she’s a force to be reckoned with, both in life and in art. And let me tell you, the sparks fly when these two clash. It’s a battle of wills that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.

But amidst all the darkness and drama, there’s also a whole lot of heart. “Angry God” is about more than just love and secrets; it’s about the healing power of opening up to those closest to you. After all what are your friends and family there for if not to offer their support in your time of need.

So my friends, if you’re in the mood for a read that’s equal parts heart-wrenching and heartwarming, “Angry God” is a must-read. So grab your favorite snack, cozy up in your favorite reading nook, and get ready to lose yourself in the All Saints High series. Happy reading, my friends!
