Book Review: Dirty Thirty by Janet Evanovich

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Series: Stephanie Plum

Hello Book friends! I am a long-time fan of Janet Evanovich and her Stephanie Plum Series, so today, I’m sharing with you the world of Trenton’s most lovable bounty hunter, Stephanie, as she navigates the chaos in Janet Evanovich’s latest installment in the series, “Dirty Thirty.” This book is a rollercoaster of laughs, mystery, and a hefty dose of that signature Stephanie Plum charm.

I’m handing out a solid four stars to this one, and here’s why.

First friends, let’s talk about the chemistry, and as always the chemistry between Stephanie and Ranger does not disappoint. This is not a spicy novel friends, but With Morelli away on police business in Miami, Ranger steps into the limelight, and boy, does he make an entrance. Evanovich has a knack for crafting characters that leap off the page, and Ranger is no exception. The tension, the banter, it’s all there, keeping us hooked and yearning for more.

Now, onto the star of the show – Nutsy. I mean, who could resist a character with a nickname like that? Martin Plover hires Stephanie’s help to track down his former security guard, Andy Manley (aka Nutsy), who he believes stole a fortune in gems. Nutsy’s antics and quirks add a hilarious layer to the story, turning it into a comedy of errors that will leave you chuckling throughout. Poor Nutsy has as much golden retriever energy as Bob, Morelli’s dog who stephanie is dog-sitting for the duration of the novel.

But it’s not all fun and games in Trenton. Stephanie is also on the hunt for Duncan Dugan, a fugitive who was caught robbing Plovers Jewelry store in the first place. Who disappears from the hospital. With the witnesses disappearing, the stakes increase, and Stephanie finds herself knee-deep in trouble, but what’s new? Stephanie isn’t one to shy away from a little mess. If anything, she thrives in the chaos.

And let’s not forget the side characters that make this series so enjoyable. Lula, Stephanie’s best friend, is convinced she’s being stalked by a mythological demon – because, of course, why not? Simon Diggoery, who’s helping the team find a dead body, -it is what he does. And a overnight stakeout with Stephanie’s mother and Grandma Mazur brings three generations of strong-willed women together, and their escapades are nothing short of hilarious.

As for Morelli and Ranger, the eternal dilemma of choosing between the two continues. With Morelli away, Ranger takes center stage in Stephanie’s life, and the tension between the three characters adds an extra layer of intrigue. I don’t know about you, but I’m eagerly awaiting the day Stephanie doesn’t have to make that choice, It’s been a long time coming.

In a nutshell, “Dirty Thirty” is a wild, entertaining ride with Evanovich’s signature humor and charm. Stephanie Plum’s escapades, and the love triangle with Morelli and Ranger make for a delightful read. So, grab a copy, buckle up, and get ready for a laugh-out-loud adventure in the heart of Trenton. I, for one, can’t wait for the next in the series – bring on book 31!
