Book Review: Love Burns by Mandi Beck

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✩ (4/5)

Hello friends! I just wrapped up Love Burns by Mandi Beck, the explosive second part of Frankie and Deacon’s story, and let me tell you-this book does not hold back. If you thought Love Hurts was wild, buckle up, because Love Burns takes the drama, the danger, and the passion to a whole new level.

We pick up right where the first book left off: Frankie and Deacon are back in one of their infamous off-again phases. Deacon, still reeling from their breakup, wakes up after a fight night with two strangers and a pounding headache, only to get a call from Frankie that sends a chill down his spine. She says one word-Andrew-before the line goes dead, and Deacon’s out the door in seconds, desperate to get to her. What he finds is straight out of a nightmare: Frankie’s in danger, and Deacon’s fists do the talking until the police and US Marshals show up to haul him away.

The tension doesn’t let up for a second. As Deacon tries to protect Frankie from the fallout of her past-and his own-both of them end up hiding secrets in the name of keeping each other safe. The stakes are so much higher this time around: kidnapping, murder, the mob, and enough twists to keep you glued to the page. I don’t want to spoil all the wild turns, but trust me when I say there’s never a dull moment in this book.

What I loved most about Love Burns is how fiercely loyal Frankie and Deacon are, even when they’re at odds. Frankie is strong, stubborn, and refuses to let anyone-including Deacon-walk all over her. She’s the kind of heroine you can’t help but root for, especially as she stands her ground in the face of danger. Deacon is still the hot-headed, alpha fighter we met in book one, but his love for Frankie is unwavering, flaws and all. Their chemistry is as intense as ever, and even when things get messy (and oh, do they get messy), you just want them to find their way back to each other.

This duet is a quick, addictive read-perfect for anyone who loves their romance with a side of chaos and a whole lot of heart. I really enjoyed seeing Frankie come into her own, and even though Deacon is far from perfect, you can’t help but love how hard he fights for his girl. If you’re looking for a series that’s gritty, sexy, and full of jaw-dropping moments, Mandi Beck’s Caged Love duet delivers.

I’m giving the series a solid 4/5 stars. Frankie and Deacon’s story is one I won’t forget anytime soon, and if you love a romance that’s as fierce as it is fiery, you’ll want to pick these up. Until next time, happy reading-and get ready for one wild ride!
