Hello to all my book friends! I’m a 40-something-year-old originally from Cleveland, Ohio, who has always had a passion for reading. My childhood was filled with fairy tales, Babysitters Club, and choose-your-own-adventure story books. Whenever my family went on summer vacations to the beach, you would find me happily engrossed in a book. Who needs to swim?

After high school, I married my husband, who joined the Air Force, and we moved to North Dakota where we welcomed our twins. During this time, I dabbled in reading parenting magazines and books. However, it was at my job on the base where my love for recreational reading was reignited thanks to book reviews in Cosmopolitan Magazine. I started with chick-lit and gradually delved into romance, fiction, fantasy, and mystery genres. Harry Potter, recommended by my youngest sister, opened up a new world of Young Adult novels for me.

Our journey then took us to Germany, where I indulged in guides about the country, igniting my passion for history and historical settings in books. Living as a housewife in Germany offered me ample time to read between seeing the living history.

Following Germany, we relocated to Oklahoma, where I acquired a first-generation Kindle and began experimenting with various genres, learning the importance of not pushing through books that didn’t captivate me. A vacation to Cape Cod solidified my desire to settle there permanently some day. In Oklahoma, I spent much of my time on the sidelines of my children’s activities, engrossed in books or enjoying movie premieres based on my favorite reads.

Eventually, my husband retired, and we made our way to the serene Cape Cod. The beautiful beaches reminded me of my youthful days reading by the ocean and kindled my passion for audiobooks, allowing me to engage in other hobbies like knitting and crocheting while enjoying a good story.

I am halfway done with my Bachelor’s degree now, and still balancing textbooks with my ongoing love for recreational reading. I’m excited to share my bookish adventures and recommendations with you all.
